Mid-June Garden Delights
These photos were all taken on June 15 in our garden. The subjects are some of the more colorful parts of our garden at this time of the growing season.
Please enjoy the slideshow format. You can view any of these images enlarged as part of the Picasa album, by clicking in the lower left corner of the slideshow box, where it says: View Maureen's Album.

Your garden is lovely! My 1yr old digital with macro broke and I'm sick about it. New one soon, I hope. :)
Love the way you lit the close-ups. Natural light? Or are you directing a remote flash?
Exceedingly cool!
as always, stunning, and emotional.
that really gold honeysuckle ... I NEED some ;)
tammy - ooo - that's too bad about your camera. Well, you probably know I've endured the same tragedy. :o]
I hope you get a replacement camera soon, too. What kind did you have that allowed you to shoot macro?
ellis - thank you very much for your compliment. I never use flash -- all of these were shot with my Canon RebelXT on AV mode using available light -- not even a white board to bounce light or diffuse light. Now that I've actually used the word "never" -- well, that means I will probably start using flash, lol! ;-D oh well. I actually like the graininess and low-light style.
EO, thanks for enjoying the slideshow and I hope you start using that Picasa feature to your amusement and benefit. Yet another cool tool...
kim, my dear -- i'm sure you can find that honeysuckle in one of the many droolingly delicious nurseries around Seattle. It's a cultivar of trumpet honeysuckle (Lonicera sempervirens) called Mandarin I've never seen so many blossoms on our vine as there are this year. I should run out right now and shoot another overall shot for you -- before they all fall off. Plant it somewhere you can enjoy the incredible beauty of sunlight coming through the orange trumpets. It's one of my favorite garden delights. :-)
Beautiful and wonderful pics Maureen! What a way to start my day with a slide show of your garden. See you next week.
Great slideshow! Thank you.
